ABSTRACTIKA was founded in 2014 originally in Belfast, by Teresa Sanchez.
With a degree in psychology and music education, after several years working in this field she decided to leave it temporarily to dedicate herself to what she really felt passionate about. The world of art, illustration and fashion.
At first it started as a little hobby, people liked the clothes she wore and asked her about it. That’s why she decided to go to small markets where she started selling her designs.
The source of inspiration has been mainly music and all the subgenres created around it. An identity.
The main idea was to create clothes with recycled and sustainable fabrics, with a different alternative design and at prices that people could afford.
At the beginning everything was made by herself, pattern making, tailoring, design, everything!
After several years she returned to Spain, her country of origin, and began to study a fashion degree to improve her skills.
His dream was to be able to give dignified work to other people, and…. yes! work achieved.
Nowadays most of the production is done in a workshop right next to his studio. It is wonderful to be able to have the workshop next door, to be with them, to solve all the problems that arise….
She is in charge of the design, pattern making and digital pattern making, research of sustainable fabrics or deadtocks of big brands.
She is passionate about photography and all the photos or most of them are taken by her. She often collaborates with other brands, or works with other photographers.
In short, fashion is a mix of everything she loves; illustration, design, music, architecture and art.
